We offer quality 4 frame nucs that are available for pickup around the 1st or 2nd weekend in May in MN and approx. the third week of April in TX. Each nuc will have a 2024 laying, young queen grafted from selected stock. They are grafted off predominant MN Hygienic line genetics and then we monitor potential breeder queens throughout the season. Our final selection for our breeders that year is using a liquid nitrogen hygienic test.
Each nuc consists of 4 frames of brood/pollen/honey. A 50% deposit is required to secure your order. No frame exchange.
We do not out source for our nucs. We manage our own hives throughout the year and we are the ones who produce and care for each nuc .
We start splitting our hives in mid-March and put these nucs together at that time. We attempt to have a 4 year frame rotation within our broodnests. The benefit for our customers is that the majority of the combs being placed into the 4 frame nucs are 4 years old and newer. A ripe queen cell grafted from our selected breeders is placed into the nuc 24-48 hours after splitting. Before the customers receives their nuc/s, we will have confirmed several times that the nuc is queen-right and has a suitable laying pattern.

We treat our customers with the same level of service whether they purchase 1 nuc or 1,000 nucs.
An email regarding pickup details will be sent out mid-april. MN pickup is normally the 1st-2nd weekend in May (weather dependent) at our honey house located in Howard Lake, MN (an hour west of Minneapolis)
Texas pickup is in Cleveland, TX (an hour north of Houston) and is typically the 3rd-4th weekend in April. These have been the traditional dates the past 10 years but weather can play a factor.
